"darlingd brings together three veterans of the Atlanta power pop scene to deliver “the perfect blend of angst-rock guitars and emotion drenched vocals…driving the line between dark wave and power pop,” Mishmashmusic

"darlingd features songwriter Daniel Taylor (Path of Allyson) on vocals, bass, and guitar, producer Gavin Fisher in charge of guitars, keys, and programming, and Greg Mensching (Wah Wah Jones, Tim Morgan Project) on drums. All three have previously collaborated in groups Henry.Sam.Ocean, and Dimmerswitch. darlingd summons the spirit of the alternative pop movement of the late 80’s/early 90’s, drawing frequent comparisons to Lifehouse, Toad the Wet Sprocket, and most frequently, Sugar. However, it is Daniel Taylor’s alluring baritone voice (reminiscent of Depeche Mode’s David Gahan) that brings a darker edge to darlingd’s music. Norm Deplume of demorama.com describes Taylor’s unique voice as “very restrained, very tasteful.”
